On 2.18.06, Saturday, I was playing on the "Ordinance Monkey" server with some exceptional pilots present. One of them was named =OM= TheSticman, or something close to it. The guy is an incredible pilot.
I have no idea how he accomplished this, and I will try to explain it as best I can. On the Dailian Plant map, I was on the USMC team. The Communists had pushed us completely off the land, so the whole team was on the Carrier. I got into a boat, and made my way to the northern most base on a 64-player map.
As I was out in the open water, roughly half way to my destination, "TheSticman" was approaching from behind me in a J-10. Although I was driving the boat forward, I turned around to watch his approach. He swooped down on me, and the next thing I knew, I was dead. The camera angle immediately switched to the third person view, just in time for me to see the J-10 literally on top of my boat. The j-10 then took off and continued on as normal. Basically he rammed my boat with his plane, and continued on as normal.
Here are the facts:
1. He did not shoot me with the guns, because I had full health right up to the moment of death in myself and the boat.
2. If he did drop a bomb on me, the resulting explosion surely would have destroyed the jet. Unless the splash characteristics over water are toned down.
3. I saw my boat explode and his plane take off smoking after he performed this maneuver.
Basically, this was one of the coolest, gustiest, and most amazing demonstrations of skill that I have ever seen in the game. I had no idea that you could ram a moving object over water, with a J-10 and continue on. Amazing skill.
Hats off to the sticman, he is an ace at flying!
P.S. I suck at flying, but Ace pilots have no problem dealing with the patch changes. If you are skilled you will still kick ass regardless of the changes that are made to the game. Everyone on this server was owned by this guy. And there were some excellent players on the server.
