    problem with the L96A1

OK. I did a quick search and didn't find an answer so hears my question. I unlocked the new L96A1 and went strait in to try it. I shot the first guy I came across THREE times in the head ( I know because of the small cloud of dust that happens when a bullet hits something.) and he didn't die. Now do i jest have bad luck or has anyone els had this problem?

wow...all i can say is lag or something...was the guy in the same position or immediate area after each shot?

anytime i use the L96A1 (very rarely, i gotta mooch it off a dead sniper) i get kills left and right :p

Dust puffs doesn't mean a thing unless you're playing offline.
Look for the hit indicator to lit up, the four lines in your crosshair. If it lits, you hit.

The puffs are just the client (your computer) thinking you hit him, however the server may be of a different opinion due to latency. Puffs are just local graphical confirmation, while the hit indicator is confirmation from the server.

That being said, the hit indicator doesnt' always work properly for AT/Snipers..

Any sniper headshot kills, so you must've missed.

I've not seen the hit indicator on L96A1 yet.
            Tis fooked.
Never on the M95 either, but then there are some really big thick black lines in the way.

he was sitting in a tank turret. there was no lag at that moment. although I don't know if I saw the hit indicator, I had decided that was a less reliable then the puffs. oh well I guess I'll go back to using the L96. I like everything els about it. Thanks guys.

faced something similar but not with the L96A1, i knifed someone twice, saw 'puffs' off his leg but he could still turn around and shot me in the face. I thought knife is a one stroke one kill weapon??

well there ya go....the tank turret...although can be easy to snipe....

certain angles will not give you a headshot... a little case of bad coding...

And he might have been dead already - just his body left before it dissapeared?

I shot a Spec Ops guy in the cheek with the L96A1 from about 5 meters away. No kill. Must be packet loss or something.

I rarely ever see the hit indicator on any of my sniper rifles. I've only seen it on the L96A1 when someone steps on one of my claymores. Out of my 500+ sniper kills this month, I've probably seen the hit indicator about 1% of the time.

keep ur fire button pressed after u fire, this will prevent the gun from going out of the zoomed mode, and you'll see if u got a hit in or not

i think that anyone who plays the sniper kit for a while will have seen this happen, it's not really a regular occurance but it ****es you off when it happens, especially if they run off and you don't get a kill, or even worse if they turn around and shot you in the face!
