    Different Drive for Install?

i just downloaded the 1.2 patch, and when i went to install it, said that i needed like 2000 mb of space..

    this is my cdrive.

it's 20GB of space.. very small..

and it's already loaded up, since its' the family computer with other stuf fon it.

    i have my e drive.

it's like... 80GB of space, with hardly any of it used, which is where i usually put all my games.

i'm wondering, can i install BF2 onto my E Drive? or does it have to be on the C Drive? because ther ewas a question about this when the first patch came out, and i dont think there was a real answer to if you could or could not.

So can i install BF2 on my other drive, and not get any problems with patching? or is there alot more that i have to do....

BF2 you can install on any drive.

However the patch will still require you to have ~3 GB free space on C:\

You can fool the install to think that your Program Files folder is located on a different drive.

      Just before patching
      open regedit.exe and navigate to:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion
find ProgramFilesDir and change it to e.g. E:\program files if that is your new 80 GB drive. Then start patch and it should ignore your C:\ drive during patching.

After patching set ProgramFilesDir back to normal settings, unless you desire your Program folder to recide on E:\. If there's already a lot of stuff installed on your Windows installation, I recommend that you set it back to normal, as programs already installed might not work properly. This setting effect all Windows users on the PC, not just the one your are currently logged in as.

No problem glad to help. I forgot to add one important fact. you most likely need to restart the PC to the new information loaded into Windows.
