So what reason do i have not to get unlocks? ive progressed a rank since the patch.

yeah i see the new p90 and the new sniper on my unlocks list on bf2s and it shows them as not currently unlocked but it also shows that my stats have not updated since january so maybe before long it will catch up?

I did sort of think it was just the stat sites that had a ig delay with updateing rather than EA's own auth servers?

I think I'm going to try my theory of "revert to 1.12 because thats when the unlocks were given out".

There were no "free unlocks". The people who got the unlocks were people whose scores were high enough pre patch that they were going to move up in rank when the patch came out and thus get unlocks with their new ranks (I think also if you owned SF and were eligible for the two new weapons because you had the unlocks for those kits in normal BF2, but I don't own SF so I'm not 100% clear on that). You have some 15,000 global points, that made you a Gunnery Sergeant before the patch, and it still makes you a Gunnery Sergeant after the patch. No change in rank = no unlocks.

I have the sniper and AT kits unlocked and I own SF, therefore, I should have my guns.

Master/First Sgt you get 2 more and Sgt Major you your last 2.

For the previous sf unlocks, you got the sf guns if you had sf and the kits unlocked, therefore, I should still get my sniper.

I never had any free unlocks when i installed the patch, and my stats r all updated, ive only been playing ranked servers for 3 weeks or so though?

What is your rank? Are you running the Special Forces expansion? You only get unlocks starting at Lance Corporal. If you only run vanilla BF2 you get one unlock per rank; if you run SF you get two unlocks per rank. The "free unlocks" only happened because EA added the 2nd unlocks at Lance Corporal and Corporal so people who were already above those ranks got two "free" unlocks. The same thing happened when SF was released; people who were already high-ranked and played SF immediately got 2 or more unlocks.

No, you do not get any "automatic" unlocks. You do need to have the tier 1 unlock before you can unlock the tier 2 but you must have a free unlock slot to unlock a new weapon. You get two unlock slots with each rank starting with Lance Corporal. As DrunkenPirate said, you have two more unlocking ranks left and four more weapons left to unlock.
