Crash At Startup

When i try to start bf2 the first black screen that comes up just sits there for a couple seconds and then all of a sudden it crashes back to my desktop. It worked before i got my 1.2 patch and im clueless because ive tried re-installing multiple times.

Specs

2.60 ghz p4 processor
512 MB ram
Geoforce 6800

anything else ask ill be checking back frequently

*EDIT* Im currently updating video drivers
*EDIT* Updating vid drivers didnt help

Please! it seems this problem has become prevalent among the community after 1.2. This is a serious problem. If anyone out there knows or could help us, kindly do. :)

ok chaps here is my prob hope this helps someone in someway
my game still crashes all the time .sometimes i cant even finish 1 single game
so im scoring no points now and have'nt for a while.
demo ran fine no crashes
special forces is unplayable at monent even after new 112 patch
crash to desktop all the time
bf2 crashes when ever i play on line and in single player sound stuttering problems,dont no if its lag or what.
what i do no is this crashes with onboard sound on and with creative 5.1 sound card in someone sais the creative soundcard aplication softwhere causes it ,so i didnt load it (just drivers latest ones)still crash
try all vid drivers under the sun still crash
formated only 1 game on now bf2 still crash
got norton running 2006 crash still/diabled it still crash and firewall off
still crash
shut down all unnecercary programs still crash
only time is doesnt is when i join a server and theres about 2 or of us just flying around in planes and copters,run for about 2 hours the no probs
when server start to fill up crash crash crash
its like the stuttering i used to get in half life 2 before the fixes started coming iut for it
usally crashes just when artillary starts to land or loads of sounds on the map it crashes
so personly i think its a vid card driver issue and not sound

1.5 gig kingston ddr 3200 ram running in duel /not over clocked

nvidia fx 5950 ultra 256 card(msi)
abit nf7-s motherboard latest drivers
latest drivers on all
using latest vid card drivers like i said i tryed them all

so thats it hope it help
tryed all the tweaks i cud find
still crash
hope ea or dice sort it soon cus im getting pea'd off now and will soon give up on it
shame realy best game ever while it works
been fps gaming for years so i no what i like in a game

1 more thing nothing is over heating got a 8 inch server fan blowing directly on to mboard from outside air supply threw hole in wall so its well cold in my cubard where i sit bloody cold lol
