DICE made the same mistake twice...

    2004/2005:

BF:V version 1.0 is on the market. People are playing it and just like BF2 1.2 no bugs were noticed in the first couple of days. Then people started complaining about the M60. It was too accurate and powerful. Everyone hated it and EA/DICE were forced to reduce the accuracy of the M60 a somewhat large amout.

    2006

BF2 Version 1.2 is on the market. People are playing it and just like BF:V 1.0 no bugs were noticed for the first couple of days. Then people started complaining about the PKM. It was too accurate and powerful.

How can EA/DICE make the same mistake twice when it was the BIGGEST gripe in BF:V?

The C4 and m203's have been nerfed. I don't see how the Beta testers didn't pick up that the PKM was waaay too accurate?

    [/end rant]

Call me a whinger, I don't care. I just don't see how a major corperation can be so lacking in common sense. BF2 is probably the most unbalanced game I have ever played and EA have just made it worse yet again.

meh.. u win some, you loose some... its ok if you feel this way man... just look deep inside of you and realise this is just a game, while it brings you feeling of joy, sometimes it makes you angry... yet calm down, its only a game...

Nothing wrong with your post, but I will just remind people that we have a rule that everyone needs to follow:

Again, your post is completely fine, but I just thought it would be better for me to remind people so they think twice before posting.

The big mistake with BFV's M60 was that it could be fired from a standing and crouching position with minimal lose in effectiveness. Later BFV patches made the M60 powerful from the prone position, marginally OK from the crouching position, and awful from the standing position.

The 1.2 LMGs follow the same formula: best while prone, decent enough from crouching, and awful while standing. That being said, the LMGs in general are pretty OK, but the unlocks are three times more accurate than the other LMGs, and that just ain't right.

Oh man... the Battlefield Vietnam M60 brings back such bad memories... and yet such good memories of what great fun I had with that game. :) I loved the 2-3 shot kills you could score with the standard assault rifle, which gave the game a more gritty, realistic feeling.

Anyways, that's enough talk about BF:V.

I definitely agree that it's insane they made the same mistake twice, but I personally don't feel it's quite as bad as the M60 was... it IS an imbalance, but I don't feel it's an EXTREMELY bad imbalance.

You're comparing apples to oranges. The problem wasn't that the M-60 was hardhitting and accurate, it was that it was so in conjunction with the LAW, which is why it was removed from the M-60 kit and given a M-72 grenade launcher instead that sucked considerably. Last I checked, the PKM doesn't come with an AT rocket. SO the comparison in reality is rather moot.
