100.0 mbs connection, high ping.

I have a high-speed local area connection at 100.0 Mbps. Yet when I enter a server, my ping is usually around 200-300. I can't stop getting kicked for a high average ping. Any help?

Did this just start happening after the 1.2 patch?

This is happening to me as well after the 1.2 patch. The only server i go on has a ping of 10-40 yet at least once a day everything starts laggin up (not me in particular but everything else in the map starts laggin) and i get kicked for a high ping.

Yep, I have the same problem.... I went from a ping of about 20 to greater than 200 after the patch....I also have like 2 FPS now.. I also noticed it takes 10x longer just to recieve the servers when I go to multiplayer, and they all have 1000 pings...

What kinda system specs. you guys got?

Intel P4 1.8 Ghz
ATI 9800 Pro w/ 256 onboard memory
1 Gig. of RAM
DSL connection
at least 25 GIGS. of free space on Hard Drive...

system specs have nothing to do with your ping.

Thats the LAC Connection Speed and not the actual Internet Speed. It happens with me, it says my LAN network is 100 mbps but I know it's due tot he fact my Main PC has 1.5mbps Connection speeds.

sir sphox is right...100mbps is like the maximum speed for ur computer..but the actual the the speed of the internet connection u have

hi basically i have a pretty high end pc and before the 1.2 patch everything was running smoothly. After my ping has gone mental, used to be about 14 in servers close to me and now its always about 100. Im crap with computers so i have no idea why. the screen lag is so bad that it makes it impossible for me to have any fun. I tried the punkbuster thing but i really dont understand it and it hasnt made any difference so i must of done something wrong. Pleez help cos i miss bf2 and i want it back to normal. Btw no lag in single player so it has to be my ping (hopefully)

I know that, I'm trying to look for a pattern of some type.... My ping in every game is < 20 and only in BF2 after the 1.2 patch it is > 200!... I already tried updating PB and still, nothing happened...

I have the same exact problem. I downloaded the 1.12-1.2 incremental patch and now its all messed up.

Has anyone tried to uninstall and reinstalll the game from the shipped version straight to the FULL v1.2
