How do you unlock the tier 2 SF guns?

Here's the deal:
1) I have BF2
2) It is patched to 1.2
3) I bought Special Forces from the EA website and installed it
4) I have an unlock
5) I have already unlocked the M95
6) I have already read through all the "How do I unlock threads"
7) I can't join any Special Forces servers online, it says I have a modified version of the game and need to revert to a different version. WTF?!?!?

Whenever I log into my account, in BF2 or BF2:SF, there are no P90 or L96A1.

Is there something I'm missing? I can see the P90 and L96A1 in the BFHQ profiles page, but the weapons I can choose to unlock are only the tier 1 weapons.

How do I unlock the L96A1?

Sounds like the 1.12 Patch didn't take, or what ever patch you installed didn't take. If i were you I would download the Full(300+Mg) 1.2Patch, uninstall BF2/SF and start again. Then unload the Full 1.2 Patch.

This is what I did,

Install BF2, Patch , Install SP, patch again.

Now play SF for a little bit and the nest time you log in you will have the unlocks

If you patch to 1.2 then install SF, I think it brings your game back down to the SF patch level (1.1 or something?). So you'll need to patch the game to 1.2 again.

What rank are you, i believe you still need to be seargent or above to get special forces unlocks dispite was peope previously said.

You have to repatch if you installed SF on top of 1.2 because it reverted back to 1.10.

Patched to 1.2 again
I can now play SF, I see the new guns in the soldier profiles, but it still doesn't show the new unlocks in my choose screen.

How long do I have to keep playing SF until I get to unlock?

It's not difficult, it's EA patching progress. Look at the other games like The Sims, they contain patches in each expansion and patch the game, even if you downloaded the patch.

You should only have to play a single map. However, the servers have been backed up for the past few days, so it may take anywhere from 2-8 hours before anything happens.

After waiting a day, I guess their servers updated. I was able to unlock the P90 and L96A1. Not only that, instead of 1 unlock, I had 4!
