    Saitek Cybord 3D Joystick problem

I have searched for a fix for this problem, but have struck out.

I will give you guys first crack at a fix.

I have a Saitek Cybord 3D Gold USB Joystick that works perfectly in other games, but seems to only work reversed in BF2.

I have tried checking the "invert mouse" box and that seems to fix all but the up/down movement. ie: when I pull back on the stick, the plane/chopper noses down.

Anyone else have this problem? Please help.. I suck at using the mouse and keyboard for flying anything

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah, 'invert mouse' will only work for the mouse.

You could try messing with these sections of your controls.con file:
    Code:
    ControlMap.addAxisToAxisMapping c_PIPitch IDFGameController_0 IDAxis_1 1 1
    ControlMap.addAxisToAxisMapping c_PIRoll IDFGameController_0 IDAxis_0 0 1
Try changing the zeros at the end to ones or vice versa.

I tried that a little bit, but I could not figure out what it was changing. Anyone have a better handle on what changes to make?

Make sure that you press the correct way on the stick when you are setting it under controls. I twisted to the right while I had the "rudder left" option selected and while it set the twist to be the rudder, they were reversed. Just go back in and click on the option for "pitch forward" and hit esc to clear it. Then click it and make sure that you push the stick forward.

I'm using the same stick and it was simply a matter of moving it in the wrong direction. It makes it look like it works because it assigns the axis to both up and down, but it assigns it backwards. Give it a try.

Again ... read what I said above.

Delete all the controls that you set for nose up and down, rudder left and right, and roll left and right and redo them. Make sure that if you have turn left highlighted that you actually twist the stick left rather than right. Same goes for up and down and roll.

If that doesn't work, run Saiteks config disk that came with the stick to make sure everything is properly calibrated and registering.

I'm 99.9% certain that it was simply an issue of setting the axis the wrong way when you set the button for that control.

When you input your secondary controls in setup trying reversing them and see if that works.

I mean when it says nose up push the stick forward.

I have a saitek 52 and it works great. I have to be careful when I do the setup though or it will not always work right.

Like I said for the guy about flight controls.

If you are getting a reverse response just reverse in the input on setup

I found this out when I set up my throttle . Where it says accelerate if I pull the throttle back the control works backwards

thanks for the replys guys. I will try setting the controls backwards.... make the fluke work for me!!

Right now I can't select anything once I join a game. my mouse does not work. It shows a pointer on the middle of the sceen, but it does not move with my mouse. Even when i Alt+Tab out of the game to windows, I don't have a mouse pointer, but once I end task BF2, the mouse pointer comes right back... going to try uninstalling and re-install. Maybe it is one of the 1.2 patch new bugs they talked about..

I tried the suggestion of mapping the controlls backwards and it worked!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I also read up on the mouse problem and reseting the controls back to default worked great at getting the mouse working again... not suer how it changed, but oh well.... fragging it up now!

                    Once again, a BIG Thanks
