Battlefield 2 is missing one major element, and that is large scale ship to ship combat like in BF42. My idea is simple, I guess. A large scale futuristic war on a planet dominated by ocean. The maps would have no flags. The objective is to sink the other teams aircraft carrier. The aircraft carrier spawns an infinite amount of fighters and bombers. Now, at first, you are most likely saying “Infinite aircraft? Dear god! The people teamkilling for aircraft! The camping! THE HUMANITY!”. The aircraft are weak as compared to the ships.
From heavy battleships with heavy armor, but a very low speed and very low rate of fire to a laser frigate with a high powered laser that cuts through ships but has little if any armor, to a scout corvette which can cloak itself to radar and visible detection. Each ship(class) will have its own array of weapons. A battleship will have supreme bombardment power, at the cost of the ability to fire rapidly. It also has anti-aircraft cannons onboard. A cruiser, while relying on a main gun with a faster rate of fire then a battleship’s, has an offensive option that is better then guns. By utilizing guided missiles fired from missile batteries, missiles could be guided towards other vessels. The aforementioned laser frigate posses a high powered laser that occupies much of the ship. However, to keep it afloat, the ship has enough armor to stop a fighter’s machine gun.
The aircraft would not be like anything Battlefield 2 has. Instead of relying on long range missiles, pilots will have to learn the art of dogfighting, using machine guns and autocannons. Bombs will be apart of it, but their only use is to destroy ships. Bombers will have turrets, move slow, and have a large payload, but it will take a long time to fully rearm. Gunships, or slow moving ships with heavy weapons onboard will be easy prey to fighters and the ships below. Possessing no real anti-aircraft weaponry, fighters will be needed for an escort.

I have the plot too, but its riddled with cliches. Well, message me on AIM if you have any comments (Ninj4Combatace). I thought of it in school. Uh, I really have no modding talents. Thats the problem. I can probably learn to model, once I acquire 3ds max. So yeah, just throwing the idea around.

Okay, I have a name for it. Seas of Chaos. Yup. I'm begining to teach myself how to model, lets see how well this goes over.
