Appears that there is a VERY easy way to get away from AA/A2A missiles in jets. Don't turn, don't drop flares, just fly straight. The new missiles will most likely miss and chase after a friendly or just fly into space.

Re: Easy way to lose AA/A2A missiles?
He's actually correct. I had an enemy chopper simply hovering in front of my AA. He never moved, just sat there...shooting at people I guess. Anyway, I locked on and fired a total of 12 AA rockets at him. Not one hit...but the MOMENT he moved his chopper and started to fly off, my two AA rockets hit for the kill.

I'd like to declare right now that this thread is a load of old cobblers. I hovered in front of AA as a chopper and got totally owned. And I've flown up behind enemy jets who obviously thought flying straight helped to evade missiles...needless to say, it doesn't.
What kind of crackpot theory is this?!

This is obviously not how they meant it to be but then again how hard is it to take down a hovering chopper with a mounted .50cal or M95... and how hard it is to shoot down a jet flying straight with the nose turret of your own jet?
Not very
