Destroying enemy UAV planes in 1.20

So now there's actually a UAV plane that circles above the spot the commander places it. If you destroy it it will immediately stop the UAV scan. So how do you destory the little bugger?

If your any other kit than Support, I would not recommend it since you'll need at least 1 and a half clips of ammo to take it out.

Mounted Machine guns and Support I would say are the best ground ways to destroy the UAV plane.

The next best are helicopters and jets believe it or not. With helicopters I usually fly low now and don't see it, but with jets I can just do a quick burst of my guns and take the little bugger out.

I haven't tried with the AA vehicle yet, but I'll assume that its probably the best since you can spray the UAV plane pretty easily.

Unless you're crack shot I wouldn't try with the M95. I thought the M95 could 1-shot the thing, but it can't and I have yet to destroy it before it despawns.


If you're not solo, but have access to a supply crate or support kit bags then go for it.

Its fun playing Strike at Karkand taking out the enemy UAV plane all the time

Lol, now its an art to aim headshot to the flying uav with the m95 which practically isn't very accurate.

I think it needs more shots .

A .50 on a jeep is also very effective, but you can't point up much with those things, so if it's above your head you can't hit it

Jets take it out pronto, any vehicle takes it out fast apart from hand held guns

Was flying in a jet today and I missed with my guns and rammed it...and IT KILLED ME.

Looks like the UAV plane has the same mechanics as Parachutes - solid as a rock.

As for the jeep, what you can do is do what I do with MEC tanks - find a slope that allows you to angle the vehicle up at a steeper angle. Becareful thou since you're now exposing your underbelly.

m95, one shot to make it smoke, second shot to make it go away. did it twice seemed easy enough...

You dont get any points for shooting it down, only for blowing up the trailer.

It takes about 3 seconds of continous fire to take it down with the AA on the Essex.

No.. I rammed it with a cow and I destroyed it so it's not indestructable, and I've also rammed it with a j10 and it took it out so it's not like a parachute.
