Okay, i just got done trying to install the new 1.2 patch for BF2 and i keep getting this error everytime i load it up to play. "The application or DLL C:/Program/EA GAMES/BF2/RendDX9.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette". I already tried re-installing it and updating it again, didnt work. I tried installing it then installing the 1.12 patch then the 1.2 patch and still got the error. This never happened before when i installed the 1.2 patch. I also tried installing Direct X 9.0 from the Microsoft Website and still didnt work.

I had this problem .I reinstalled Direct X and it fixed it. when you downloaded the file and extracted the files did you open the extracted files? Cuz when I downloaded I extracted the file I downloaded but realized this wasnt a install. SO i actually had to go into my C:/windows directory and click on the install file. I am 90% sure you did something wrong with the Direct X install as this cured my problem.Originally posted by RomainOkay, i just got done trying to install the new 1.2 patch for BF2 and i keep getting this error everytime i load it up to play. So what your saying is when you tried to uninstall it the program said it wasn't there? Meaning your not installing it like I said.Originally posted by RomainAlright well i went ahead and tried to use the Happy Direct X Uninstall program and it said that Direct X was already uninstalled. Go to my computer C:\dxsetup.exe try that.
If the file is not there do a search Start/search/ All files and folders DXSETUP.EXE
see if that worksComment
