Confused About SF

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, but i have heard so many different stories about what SF does for unlocks, and i just need somethings cleared up.
So when i bought SF,(havent played it yet) did i pretty much pay $30 for the weapon unlocks? or do i get an extra unlock for every rank i go up? or do i just auto matically get 2 free when i log in?
i have heard so many that i dont know which is right. BTW i have 2,400 points so the next rank (Sergeant) is close. Any knowledge on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

You get 2 unlocks per rank.
1 you get for Bf2 the other for SF.
You can then use SF weapons in Bf2.

why buy SF and not playing it, it has some great maps, and the features like graple and zipline are realy nice
