Coop on Demo possible?

Ok, I'm patched to 1.12, not that bugged 1.2. A friend that I have been bragging about this game is coming over the weekend. I got the demo on one of my pc and the full/patch version on another.
I know there's only one map on the demo, but can we still play lan on that one map witht these two versions.
How do I do that when these two pc are already networked sharing the same DSL line.

No you wont be able to play each other as you have completly different versions.

Would be easy enough for you to download the demo on your pc though and play with him that way.

If you want to do co-op, you just start a normal single player game, and your friend joins through the ip shown. If you are behind a router make sure you open port 16567.

For the most part as long as you have the computers connected to the same router they should be able to see each other. I wouldnt even bother with trying to open the port unless you have some crazy router firewall setup.

My 2yr old pc persona just followed the wizard from the CD-ROM that came with SBC DSL. Basically I just hit "NEXT":laugh:

Back to the demo, can I install the demo on the same PC that has the retail/patched version and not cause any problem? As if the 1.2 patch hasn't cause enough.

The demo should install without bothering regular BF2.

and you *should* be able to play each other over the demo just fine.

yea...the demo and bf2 are like different games ..and also im starting to play the demo alot more since i get like a good 10 fps gain over the actual game (they fudged the bf2 1.2 patch)

I saw a $20 BF2 in a clearance bin today. So I hid it behind some really bad DVD MOVIES. I just want to check this first. Since this 1.2 patch issue, I'v been skeptical lately.
Can you play LAN on two different version of BF2. Meaning if I kept one BF2 not patched at all, and another patched to 1.12? will this allow me to play LAN?

No. You must have the same version on clients and server (counting the SP game as the server for co-op).
