More ram or better processor??

I have 1gig of RAM but my Processor is an Intel P4 2.0
I want to increase my performance in BF2 cuz i still get that lag. I have a 6600GT card.
My question is should I go for another gig or a 3.0 processor?? I only have enough money to buy one of those. I dont know which is better to increase my gaming performance.

get the processor. i have only a gig of RAM and everything runs fine for me. I don't have a P4, but i don't have a top of the line Athlon 64 proc either. definately get the processor. that 2ghz P4 is ancient.

I agree, with your setup, get a faster CPU and worry about more RAM later.

Above 1 GB is nice, but in your case a faster processor would be better.

If you are in a situation where you also need to get a new mother board to get a faster CPU, consider getting a AMD 64 CPU instead of af P4. AMDs right now generally have better performance and are cheaper.
