Could some one please tell me how to use this damn gun before when I picked it form dead players it was great now when I unlocked it I suck at using it. help please..

use it close range only, fire it standing up and keep moving while firing try and get as many shots in as possible, reload after firing, try and be as close as possible -

Appear and fire a shot or two.
Hide.
Pop out and blow them away when they come hunting you.
If they prone far away use the rocket launcher.
Make sure you have a decent amount of sprint ready at any given time. You'll need it to move quickly into range.Comment

Hide behind corners in well trafficked areas. My favorite? The fence with the hole in it at karkand. Also, the wall behind the wall where the flag is at at the square cap point, also lying down behind the small wall at the suburb cap point.
Another tactic is flanking a cap point and sneaking up from the back--go ahead and take out the folks who spawn in front of you.
Another tactic when in crowded situations--when you take out an enemy, wait for a couple secs. A medic (unarmored...he-he-he) is sure to come up and revive your victim. Hide around the corner until you HEAR the paddles...and take them both out. Again. That's +6 you, instead of +2, and they lose two tickets. Don't forget to wait on the next medic...maybe +10... Lather. Rinse. Repeat. You get the picture!
In short, keep to corners and alleys, and you'll be fine. Really you will: the DAO is the best extremely cqc thing to have in your hand now that the GL takes time to arm.
Oh, and don't stop clicking until they stop twitching!Comment

the trick is to aim low (at their crotch/knees) and let the recoil bring the gun upwards towards their head. Within three shots you will kill the person.Comment

Aim at the head and pull the trigger if your target is in 2meters range, repeat if you dont suceed on the first shot.
Jackhammer is much worse imo.Comment

I use the DAO-12 almost all the time as i fell in love with its stopping power long ago :) My own personal tips would be to fire in volleys of three shots as fast as possible at each individual target, aim at the centre of the chest and dont forget to lead the targets a little when they are moving. As said above its "in your face" range only weapon but the most powerful squad killer of all IMHO (you can take out an entire sqaud of six in one 12 round burst with the shell spreading if your lucky) dont forget if there are grouped players, spread the shots to damage them all, the shells do massive damage even if they just clip a player. The closer you are the higher you aim, when your on top of player aim straight at the head and it will kill in one shot because the shells dont have time to spread.
The most important thing is to always keep it reloaded, even if this means popping 1 or 2 shells in as you round a corner while actually chasing after an enemy, the reload process can be inturupted by quick switching between weapons without penalty (meaning it dosent reset the bullet count like other magizine guns when you swop weapons) to this end i have bound my "Q" key to next weapon so i dont waste a split second with mousewheel or lose any movement by using an out of range keybind. Its easiest and quickest to cycle straight through AT missile>knife>pistol and back to DAO-12 in one quick "4-tap" movement, after a bit of practice its almost instant and you can keep the gun topped up with ammo all the time just in case you round a corner into more then 2 or 3 soldiers.
Another tip is to sucker people into rushing YOU by firing the pistol at them if your out of range and hitting the deck if you have some cover, you will be suprised how many people sprint at you and are shocked to find a fast firing shotgun when you re-appear and blow them away
The Jackhammer is more powerful but is MUCH less effective IMHO as there are half the bullets and a very slow reload time so you have to pick your shots more, but the DAO-12 is proper spray and pray at close range when you have mastered the "on-the-fly" reloading as mentioned above.
If the **** really hits the fan and you do run out of bullets because you forget to reload, dont ever be afraid to fire off the missile at the enemy at Very close range, it has almost no splash damage so will barely harm you even if inside a building at the time, this has the added bonus of killing outright if you hit them so they cannot be revived and also distracts people long enough for you to pop in 3 or 4 round and finish off the threat. This also goes for extremely LONG range targets as well, as its guideable you can even outsnipe snipers as they tend to try and get away as they see it streaking towards them.
Of course as posted previously: practice really does make perfect and when you master it the DAO-12 really is a fearsome weapon, playing with it (oo err) as much as i do its the only small arm that scares the life out of me on the BattleField :laugh:Comment

I use this for close range encounters.
The key is getting close to the enemy before shooting. I will sprint up to a group (hoping they dont see me in time) and fire away as fast as i can at all of them.
I can usually take out 3 people without getting hit (depending how close they are).
I have been using this weapon a lot more lately since the 1.2 rev changes. After all you need rockets now!
Its also a great ambush weapon, stay behind a fence opening or on a stairwell waiting for the enemy to enter.
The disadvantage is it takes a while to reload and if someone attacks while reloading, its difficult to switch from loading to firing mode. So must switch to pistol mode at that point.Comment

For me... Spam the fire button, it is not fully automatic but it will fire as fast as you can click that button, crosshairs on the target and spam the fire button... It actually has a reasonable range so it is good for close and short range, but for medium + whip out you pistol...Comment

I REALLY hate this gun and the people that use it! but like u all said fly round the corner and spam that fire button heh heh (thats why im unlocking the DAO 12 in a minute! :p :p )
So, as annoyed and angry i feel about being killed with that weapon i can now take satisfaction in afflicting the same on the enemy!
Cheers for the tips anyway!! (oh and only as a last resort have i ever used my guided rocket to kill infantry rather than taking out tanks, personnel vehicles and choppers.)Comment
