I have 41 kills with a knife and eaily over 30 minutes in a TOW. But still do not have either of those basic badges...

Is there something I am missing?

Note that IAR = IN A ROUND

and the spend X amount of time ones are basically. whore badges. it doesnt matter how many times ur killed. just keep jumping in the thing and going again.

I tried to get a basic transport badge, useless as it is I would like to fill up that space. I went on karkand, grabbed a vodnik and sat off behind the train accident and went AFK for a while. 15 minutes later, I still didn't have my badge :S

Basic Ground Defense Badge is 10 minutes.
You dont have to make any kills, or even fire.
Always has been.

It's 5 minutes.

Because I sat it out recently.

Air defence might be 10 though,

Ground defense has got to be the easiest one ever. If you have trouble getting a badge where you jutst plunk your ass down in the seat of a rocket tube for 5 minutes, then you really need to stop playing this game.

Although I did that with an MG, I did actually provide covering fire and kill four or five people.

For that, I consider nothing wrong with what I did.
