Refresh Rate set at 85hz causes in-game stutter in 1.2

Just giving everyone a heads up incase they are experiencing the same problem that I did. I was getting really bad in-game stutter and mouse jerk after upgrading to BF2 1.2. I even formatted my HD and reinstalled everything to remedy the problem (to no avail). It turns out that it was my graphics refresh rate being set to 85hz. When I bumped it down to 60hz it started playing as smooth as it always did.

    My Specs are as follows:

    XP SP2
    AMD XP3200+
    1 Gig Ram
    Geforce 6800GS
    SATA HD

Now however, the game crashes to desktop after 20min or so of playing. After some research, it seems to be an issue with BF2 and the newest nvidia drivers. Unfortunatly I can not backdate my driver, because it is only the newest beta set that supports the geforce 6800GS AGP. Hopefully Nvidia will release a fix soon..

Do you have vsync enabled? If so, disable it.

Also, the BF2 demo comes with older drivers that may help you out. Also, search around via Google for older Nvidia drivers.

no, the only drivers that support his card, are the newest ones. he has a 6800gs AGP, and it is a brand new card, the only drivers that support it are the newest ones, so he cant.

          Two PC's w/ 1280x1024@85hz 2gb RAM,AGP 6800 ultra's @4xAA
both having NO in-game stutter or lag.
Both are loading maps faster after 1.2

Wonder if you should try the latest Nvidia Beta driver?
          Check the version here

I am using the latest Nvidia beta driver, as it is the only driver that I can use at the moment (only version of the drivers that supports the AGP GS).

Just played for a bit and no crash so that is good. I can't imagine that it wont crash again though.
