I think I saw a post about this before, but searched and can't seem to find it. I just upgraded to 2 gigs of memory, it is recognized by my system, but doesn't seem to be by BF2. Maps don't load any faster than before, still have lag at the beginning of maps....basically all the things people say improve with 2 gigs of memory haven't improved. Is there something I need to do to get the game recognize it? Thanks in advance.

IMHO BF2 is 'seeing' your 2Gb but as with a lot of people, it isn't mlaking any difference whatsoever. Not everyone managed to fix their lag at the start of maps with extra memory and while the memory may help with loading the map, the verifying data bit, which is often long, has nothing to do with memory.
Try playing for 10 minutes and ALT-TAB back to desktop to see how much memory it's using.
