Really dumb question about the new patch...

I posted this on a different forum and all I got were smart a** answers... so I thought I'd give ya'll a shot.

I have read all of the reviews of the new patch and decided to go for it. B4 I ask, let me say that I'm merely a casual BF2 gamer... wish I could play more but work takes up most of my time... so what I'm about to ask is prolly painfully obvious, but I shall ask anyway.

So I downloaded the new patch, and ran the install. It said, "Installation Complete". Now, how do I know that the patch did in fact go into affect? Is there somewhere that I can go to see the version that I'm running to confirm that the patch went in? When I first start up and am at the Account Login screen... there is a little number on the bottom left hand of the screen... it's something like 1.1.29654 or something like that. Is that it? I woulda thought that with the patch it should say something like 1.2.000000.

Go in a server, hop in a heli and if it has 8 missiles full then you have the new patch.

Most servers are running the new patch, if you have the old patch then most servers will be colored red, meaning you can't join them.

If you have a spare unlock, or ranked up the new Sniper and P90 AT weapon will be there to unlock.

run the game. either look in the top left or right corner of the server console.. or just press 'alt + tab' to get back to windows. Once back in windows, the version of BF2 appears in the taskbar BF2 minimized window.

correct version is (well I have this): v1.1.2696-528

Grab the M95, aim at some one's head, if it kill them you have 1.2.
