    Windows error report

After the initial small bf2 splash screen pops up (which uses closes and then you go full screen into bf2 etc..) bf2 crashes with the usual, windows has encountered a problem send error report/don't send.

However this only occurred when i patched to 1.12

Reinstalling/repatching came up with the same error, but only if it was to 1.12, bf2 with no patches or the ones before 1.12 were fine. I thought 1.2 might solve it but no change.

So, I can only think of a few things that might be the trouble.
Out of date video drivers: doubt it as they arent that out of date iirc, but would that be a problem?
Not good enough graphics card: I remember Medal of Honour was picky over with gc it had, maybe the patching has changed what is required. I have a 9600xt, granted it doesnt run it in high detail, but it used to work in previous patches.
Windows sp2: I haven't installed it yet, since it had trouble with aol.

Those are all I can think of. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Windows error report

My mates got the same problem, get to 63% everytime and crashes saying windows has encountered a problem........ I have advised him to check his ram as I've seen in previous post about people had bad ram and thats what caused their problem. Other people have said they had 2x512 and took one out and it installed the patch fine. After the patch was installed they put it back in and had no further problems. Just the patching was the problem.

I had that Problem with another game. It was a software called "WindowBlinds" (for more eyecandy on Desktop) After shuting it down, it was all fine. Try to disable all running Background-Software. It sometimes REALLY helps.
