Can't watch internet replays with v1.2

Hi,

just like the title says: I can't watch internet replays which have been recorded with BattleRecorder and the new patch v1.2. Everytime I load a new replay the game runs for about five seconds and suddenly crashes back to my desktop. LAN replays work though.

I've tried reinstalling the game but that didn't change anything.

Any ideas? Or is it one of the (obviously several) new bugs which came along with the new patch?

Are you trying to play 1.12 demos? Because that won't work, you can only play the same version of demos as the game.

Demo's aren't even being saved on our server anymore. Are they working for others?

Same problem here. The movie plays for a short time and then crash to desktop. My demo files are 1.2, not 1.12.

I am having the exact same problem. I have two battlerecorder files that I want to watch since I have installed the 1.2 patch. All of my other recorder files are in red so I didn't even try them.
If someone finds out how to fix this so I can watch my battlerecorder files I would appreciate it.

P.S. Yes these two files are of games played after the 1.2 patched was installed. :)

No, I didn't try to play 1.12 demos. Those are marked in red now, just like tonybulldog described it.

At least I'm not the only one with this problem. That gives me hope for a fix from EA/Dice.

btw: has anyone heard about a hotfix for 1.2 yet? When I look around here it seems like lots of people have several problems with 1.2 now.

i can watch 1.2 demo recording for 5sec only then it crashes to desktop

Same problem for me I get about 30 seconds of playback the crash to desktop. Although one time I did get a memory error, most of the time I get no error at all.

PS: It worked fine before the patch, and Yes I am trying to play a 1.2 match.

same here. My demo plays for a while but as soon as i start following any player it crashes to desktop. Hope it will be fixed in the upcoming 1.21 patch, i have some good moments ive been craving to see......

same problem for me, i posted a thread but deleted it since i found this one. well its definately something up with the new patch, and as jmunee stated i hope it gets fixed in 1.21 as well. so this should only be a temporary problem.

ive got a movie to make thats coming up pretty soon, and i hope this is solved before then.

and if you dont know how to actually make them, here you go

1. If its just single player or LAN game, open up console and type in demo.recorddemo ______ (this is the name you want to give it). go to program files\eagames\bf2\mods\bf2\demos and it should be there. copy the .bf2demo file, and go to my documents\battlefield2\profiles\default\demos. if that folder aint there, make one and paste the demo in there. it should show up in the community tab ready to play.
2. if its on an online server, at the end of the round (if the download works), it should be on the left hand side. download it and it will go to right collumn, ready to watch

This is just another thing broken with the 1.2 that will be fixed.
Battlerecorder is bad ass & if anyone needs help setting up the web or ftp part so people can d/l demos off your server, pm me!!!
