Your 1.2 weapon test video was a nice video Blahman.

But I have to note that in some the kills don't you think the DAO can do the same if not better job than that of the P90? The first kill and second kill for example.

I have to ask though, did you have a chance to test out the stock SMG's of the anti-tank class? It might produce a better result compared to the P90. (when compared statwise)

Funny... when I use it I seem to be raking in the kills and consistently ranking first on the server. That of course is in conjunction with the AT missle, but the P90 is a decent all-around weapon and is plenty accurate enough for scoped headshots within 50 meters or so. See my 1.2 Weapons Test for an example. And that's not even my best work with it, when I have FRAPS off and have 60+ FPS I can really start tearing it up.

That's not to say that it doesn't need to be buffed. The real P90 fires 900 rds/sec, the BF2 P90? 600. That is a huge oversight by DICE and they need to fix it. Also, it should have higher damage per shot against armored targets than the other SMGs, since it uses an armor piercing round. Against unarmored targets the damage seems about right, but again the rate of fire is what's holding it back.

So in short, P90 is a decent unlock that expands the effective range of the AT class in a much needed way, but it still needs some lovin' from DICE to make it more realistic.

You shouldn't post that video as a defense of the P90.

Of the 11 people you engaged and 10 kills you made you made, 7 of them were against opponents that didn't even see you until you had a few seconds of shooting time. ANY gun is good when you have the time to fire 25+ rounds at a target without retaliation. You really haven't shown anything that substantiates claims of the gun's usefulness; only that it is capable of killing eventually.

Try the MP5 and see how much better you do. I promise you'll be impressed.

Most of the other respondents, myself included, have had bad experiences that reflect the P90's poor stats.

It's sad that you can put 5 rounds into an unarmored target and he can still turn around and kill you, which is to say nothing of armored foes. And at 600 ROF and .6 deviation, managing 5 hits takes way too long.

Yeah, I dig. That's why I wasn't defending the gun or recomending it. Just making an observation about my personal experiance with it so far.

I did have a particularly annoying moment where I'd managed to plug some guy 3 or 4 times at a perty fair range, then a sniper got him and I didn't even get an assist point.

A counter really amusing moment involved a DAO armed ATer rushing at me blazing away while he was still too far away to do more and annoy me with a couple pellets. I ran backwards putting rounds into him while he kept doing little more than insulting me. He died.

I agree that it would be a good idea for Dice ta take a look at this weapon in the future. Giving it either a better ROF or armour penatration would prolly help out lots.

Edit: I also admit I haven't gone back to try the MP5. I'll prolly give that a shot (or 2) tonight.

about the video of blahman, well, the video is misleading ,

first of all, those kills with the P90 aren't after eachother, they are just put togheter in the movie .

second, 7 of the enemy's didn't see him comming, and didn't even shoot back.

and third, almost all enemy's shot in this video where already wounded , this because you need at least 6 hits with the P90 to kill, and most of the enemy's here go down after a few hits (not shots) .

Im not trying to defend the P-90 but any weapon is deadly in the right hands. You just have to use it right.

Just look at it this way, if you kill a few people in a squad with a P90, they know they got their asses handed to them. I'm going to unlock it just so when I kill people they think "wow I suck."

For every consecutive bullet, a certain deviation modifier is added up to a maximum deviation modifier. You can reset this by not firing, which lets the gun "cool down" - you can see this at work when, after shooting, the lines on the crosshair tighten back up after spreading out.

So the "sub" stat is how fast the dev drops? Is it per second?
(And it does have a slight accuracy advantage over the other SMGs because of its lower stance modifiers. Not enough to counter the low rate of damage and the fact that the pistol still beats its accuracy.)

I like the P90. Its good for like City maps. You just gota aim for the head...not my fault if you aim for the feet and spray or something..people used to say the g3 sucked but it did not, they just didnt know how to use it.

Anyways, I like using it, its fun, and theres always the awesome sensation of owning someone with the crappiest weapon.

I think you just validated his point (and mine, too): any gun in the game is good, if it suits your style of play or if you can adapt your playing style to suit the gun.

P90 is plenty useful to me (as I said in another post) in the larger maps. It just feels more comfortable to me than the other options (shotty or the default SMG).
