Yeah, well I was earning by the age of 3. I had 9 jobs when I was 5. I have just paid off the mortgage on my £4M mansion and I'm only 7...

    God I love p***ing contests!

I am looking for a new videocard as well. I found a 6800 gamers edition card second hand in the city i life in (in holland). He is asking 250 euro's, is this a good card and is it a good price for this card?

Although I prefer them over Nvidia, ATi has yet to release a card after the 800 that is a HUGE jump above it. The 1600 downgrades some features and upgrades some others. Myself, i'd take the 800 over the 1600.

I would take the x1600 ONLY because it is a newer chip. for older games, yes the 800 probably performs SOMEWHAT better, but having a newer chip especially with shader mdoel 3 will benefit you greatly in the future.

I didn't even think about shader model 3.
Shader model 3 aside, if you check the actual specs of the two cards you'll see that there are only a few areas where the 1600 is better than the 800. And even then they sort of even each other out for who is better. No real winner here.

              Taken from ATi's website:

              X800 XL
              Bus Type: AGP 4X, 8X
              Memory Amount (MB): 256
              Memory Type: GDDR3
              Memory Interface: 256-bit
              Memory Clock Speed (MHz): 490
              Engine Clock Speed (MHz): 400
              Pipelines: 16
              Pixel Fillrate: 6.4 Gpixels
              Geometry Rate: 600 MTriangles

              X1600 PRO
Bus Type: AGP or PCI Express x16
              Memory Amount (MB): 512
              Memory Type: DDR2
              Memory Interface: 128-bit
              Memory Clock Speed (MHz): 390
              Engine Clock Speed (MHz): 500
              Pipelines: 12
              Pixel Fillrate: 2.36
              Geometry Rate: N/A MTriangles

Also, "for older games"? I'm not sure how old you consider an "older" game to be, but with that logic, the 1600 is also only good for old games since the 1900 is out:)
