Not a rant, speaking of facts

I have never whined about BF2 in any time since the game was released. In fact I was (and still am) one of the lucky ones who have had no problems at all with the game. I never had a CTD, or connection problem, or bad fps, or anything that kind with this game. This thread is definetly not intended to whine about the new patch. I have no problem with the tweaks DICE made to game such as the noobtube or the AA. This post is about bugs the game had before the patch and after the patch (which I think is an important fact since I am a programmer)

Before I start my post, here are my system specs:

    P4 3.0 Ghz Prescott w/HT
    Intel Mobo
    2 GB DDR2 667 Mhz
    7800 GT OC
    SB Audigy 4
    SATA 80 GB

    1. The AT rockets are still going through the vehicles. Last night it happened to me over 20 times in Sharqi, karkand, and mashtuur. I was playing in a very low ping server, my ping was never over 30, and nobody had over 120 ping in the server, most people's pings averaged around 50s. I thought this might be an issue with other guy's computer (the one i was shooting at) so i asked my friend who have a similar computer and who have a similar ping to be in the other team so we could test this. The result was the same, the rockets do go through the vehicles and they go through horribly.

    2. The AT reload bug is still there and now it is a lot WORSE. You have all these multi reloads going on and you shoot the rocket, your rocket count doesnt decrease, you shoot again, then it shoots 2 rockets, it is totally ridiculous.

    3. The Noobtube is not fixed at all. It is definetly not bouncing off the objects, you can still shoot it right on your feet, or you can shoot it to far away from you (mid range not too far away of course) and it doesnt bounce. it "sometimes" bounces off the walls, but thats like 2 out of 10 times.

    4. The same reload bug with hand granades, or ammo packs, or C4.

    5. The bug where the game uses a heck a lot of memory for decreasing loading times. I found out it uses 200-250 MB of more memory than it should AND since the meshes are not completely loaded, they put so much work on your GPU and CPU while you are in the game, and this cause low fps, choppy graphics. What happens is, they basically made it so that most/part of the object meshes dont load while you load the map, they are loaded when you need them to be loaded. In theory this sounds good, but in practice, this causes your computer to be overloaded and get some serious performance problems.

    6. The server browser is still not fixed. I don't know what they are thinking when they say it is fixed. Favorites still don't work. It doesnt record more than 10 servers. When you go back to server browser, browser is empty, when you apply more than 6 filters, the browser doesn't work, you name it.

    7. There is a huge lag issue (overall) with the game. Everyone seems to get more lag than ever and I, again, believe this is related to increasing loading time performance. Our pings are very good, and the problem is definetly not fps or graphics, its the lag.

I do of course have disagreements with other tweaks that came with the patch, but I can deal with them. These what i said above really need serious consideration as soon as possible.

I have had all of those bugs except for number 2:cry:

But the worst 1 is still the red name bug i have it 3-4 times a game now

I agree alll the bugs need fixing now no more tweaks to AA or gameplay just fix the bugs

Id say the main things that are getting me at the moment is the lag and AT missiles not firing (i see the animation but they don't actually fire i can tell by the missile count) and the old bug of AT missiles actually going through the object your aiming at. I honestly cant see any of these issues though being fixed until (or if) they make a 1.4 patch. 1.3 is probably going to be mainly just for the armour booster pack. It would be nice if they fixed them a.s.a.p. but certain bugs i think will always be in the game (the red/blue tag bug for example).

yea the at bug where the missles go through the object has made me not want to play that class. maybe if we wouldnt rush them so much and whine we want patch we want patch and give them some more time then these things woudnt occur

I agree. I played AT a lot before 1.2, but I cant see myself playing it as much due to restricitions in infantry movement and the fact that there is a horrid reload bug and false-fire problem. The huge delay between prone and standing is a nightmare when you need to take cover from APC or tank fire, and the sprint exploit was about the only thing that made the AT playable. Now its so cumbersome.

I used to be able to defend myself against infantry and vehicles while playing as standard AT. Now its pretty hard to survive at all as AT.

EA/Dice had good intentions with this patch. But they've made infantry combat very slow and so equal now that skill is pretty much irrelevent. Now its just a case of who ever has a the PKM or G36E and goes prone first.
