What the hell happened to my game?!

Okay guys.. I know you are getting tired of me and my questions but I recently upgraded my game to 1.2. The latest patch is this one i beleive.

So today i tried to play on a multiplayer with my newly updated game... It seemed a little laggy... *cough* ALOT LAGGY. and the buildings and structures were gone. Instead, there were black shadows where they are supposed to be.

But atleast I could see through everything..

What happened to my game? Does anyone have the same problem?

If you check around the forums, you'll see that this has been mentionned several times, but I can't blame because the 1.2 fascination is burying topics faster than ever.

It sounds like it's a very common problem; I experience it myself.

Some people suggest deleting the cache files (or otherwise forcing BF2 to optimize shaders) or uninstalling/reinstalling. I've tried both and neither seem to work. :/

im having problems too... lag!.... agh... but to top it off have any of you noticed that you can shoot a grnade at the wall with a grande launcher and the grenade wont blow up right away. it changes directions the when it hits the grond it blows up... wierd..... i didnt read nething about that changing... but whats botherin me to most is the strange smoke effect from the grenade launcher... weird thing is in single player its fine and then in multiplayer online in any room doesnt matter it messes up and get this x or star flat lines look..... is ne one else having this problem?

alijan: i'm guessing you have 9200 or 9250... they broke them...

criskoe: the grenade launcher has a minimum distance/time to explode. Stops people running around alleys with the launcher out.

hey freOn do you have this issue... whith the smoke from the gl looking funny on multi player? when you shoot a grenade you should get a poofy smoke out the end of the gun... followed by a long trail line of smoke from the grenade... (lol poofy.... the oly word that makes sence).. all is good in single player but when i play online on any server im getting strange smoke. it looks like lines in the shape of a x or star... like a flat image of smoke instead of a smoke like stream..... ne one else getting this problem?

by the way the first two pics are in single player which seem to be fine and the second two are online in multi player in the exact same spot to show what i mean......

im actually using Radeon 9000... am i doomed? is there no fix for my laggy/wallhacky problem?

They also seemed to have broken 9000's and I know they broke 9100's because that's what I have, and I have the lag (it's actually a severe drop in framerate, not lag in the traditional sense) and missing buildings.

EA seems to be ignoring all support queries regarding the 1.2 compability issues with these certain ATI video cards, so the only solution is to get a new card, or hope that ATI releases a fix. I wouldn't hold my breath out on EA releasing a hotfix.

WTF.. thats so stupid.. i bought the game for 60 bucks CAD, and i got a very good graphics card, im not wastin anymore money.. its stupid. the game was working fine before, with their little upgrade they broke it. they should fix it. not me. you guys cannot imagine how ****ed off i am @ ea. they should fire all their freaking programmers and get new ones. wtf.

make that execute their programmers :evil: .. nah just joking.. but for real they need to do their jobs better... look at by example counter strike source... i know they've got that engine longer than the bf2 engine but still... cs source flawless.... battlefield 2 FULL OF ****ING BUGSSS aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah....... that's how to whine

so i will uninstall the patch.. do any of you know how to downgrade without actually uninstalling the game then reinstalling it than adding on the patch again? if so plz tell!!!

You're right, it is stupid, unfair, and unethical, but do you think anyone at EA cares?
