    Re: Attention DICE

I always thought people were being too picky about the glitches and stuff with this game. I play a fair bit, and have rarely noticed any. The odd red blue tag thing but thats about it..

However, since the 1.2 patch I noticed the red blue tag on wake alot, i cant printscreen, I have crashed to desktop about 4 times already (which has only ever happened in the past when i try to play custom maps. and my AT rockets go through enemy vehicles.

I always liked being able to throw grenades at claymores and destroying them, especially if i am the sniper who put them there and could forsee teamkills ahead.

I like the option for the server to turn off teamkill punishes, I think that should be default.

I notice now, that if you were to shoot at the ground directly below you with a noob tube, to suicide, you hear it shoot, then explode then there is like a long pause before you die. However this could be down to my system.

Something which is not down to my system is wheever i moved myself (run walk sprint) or my vision (with my mouse) the sound would make 'pops'.

Also the server search thing is still not smooth. I cant input numbers, even after toggling numlock, using both normal and keypad numbers. You cant "control+V" into it either, however sometimes you cant get numbers into the form.

VOIP no longer works for me. I know my mic works as I can still use teamspeak. I am currently trying one last thing to fix voip, however, the patch shouldnt have change anything in the first place, ideally.

All of that occurs and I still love playing bf2, these things dont happen often, and I just work around them.

My post is basically saying, even I (a non-megatechnical computer user) noticed a lot of dodgey bf2 things SINCE the patch, which I put down to being attributed to the patch. I really wonder how EA work, but I still love the game.

Tell me, if your so PC literate, what is wrong with my Patriot Samsung TCCD ram (gee I wish I could grab better timings than 2-2-2-5)? Can you find anything better than that? How about my evga 7800GT? Maybe its my PSU (you know it only has 32A@12V). No wait, it must be my fragmented hard drive.

Most of us probably know a great deal more about computers than you. And I can tell you right off the bat, almost all your "tips" are down right worthless to fixing current problems. FYI Cheap ram will not cause simple game problems...it will cause BSODs of various flavors.
i was just offering advice so take it or leave it and if you call a 7800 gt a video card thats up to you but i think the 7800 gtx oc 512 meg that i have is slightly better and you probably have an amd console chip if you want me to speed up your machine trust me i KNOW what i'm doing i've been doing it for 20 years! so don't asume that you know all ,anything can cause computer glitches :a slightly dodgy dvd drive can cause glitches and hangs miss matched memory can do the same not all memory problem show themselves in bsd's

BF2 is far from a bad product, let alone an outrage. There have been far buggier games released.

So now people cant jump and shoot, so people style of play adapts. The game evolves and so do the players...thats a very good thing.

Same with the claymores, people will adapt to it (or just complain about it).

            Agreed :)
Still, I would not use the word "evolution" with the latest patch - it is more a "mutation" kind of thing. Some things work better, some things worse.
And, it is not the first time we are getting this with this game

I am very afraid of this. And you'd better be, too. Every moron will drop mines and claymores all over the place and there is no way of stopping them. Bear in mind, you now need an engineer to crawl up to the mine to disarm it. Quite a challenge with mines, a total horror with claymores.
To be sure, it was very annoying to get punished for teamkills just because a moron triggered a mine/claymore you even announced through in-game chat. But now the only thing stopping the game from becoming completely unplayable is the 2 claymores per sniper limitation. As for ground vehicles, it is no good idea to drive them towards places of interest these days. Since there are no air mines, the patch thus adds to the air superiority instead of decreasing it.

Name one game that has been buggier and has had its patches introduce more bugs.

                  I think it's all in your heads...kidding

the fact of the matter remains...before the patch there were complainers...after the patch there are more....after the next 2 patches...you'll all still be complaining....justified or not.

I'm just happy my game runs.

                  Edit:
Truth is...had no one complained about the gameplay/balancing issues in the first place...they might of fixed all the technical issues by now.

I do love 1.2, its a great patch. But it did release a new wave of bugs, which was bad. I haven't experienced most of those, other than the rocket bug, but when you change the game as drastically as EA did in 1.2, you're bound to run into problems.
