We've also been batting around this topic for about a week now. Its pretty easy to see this will be the fall release as announced back in their Oct 2005 press release. With Enemy Territory: Quake Wars coming out is would be good to try and grab some of that future gaming community with their own title. I'm not into the sci-fi type games, which is why I love BF1942 and BF2, so if this is where the BF series is going I'll jump off the train and stay here.

Fall release? That would only be like 1 year after BF2 was released. How soon does EA release followups? Was BF2 released within 2 years of BF1492?

Yeah I hear on that one Endless. My squad moved to Planetside for a short spell back in 2002 and it did take a lot to get used to the genre. I am pretty excited over Enemy Territory even though I way perfer realistic warfare as a whole. My true hope is Battlefield 3 will be the same genre as BF2 only with improved graphics. My all time dream would be a MMO title set in this time frame where whole countries could fight for various pieces of turf. Would be very cool seeing 30 or more aircraft and tank battles with 100+ tanks. Oh well something to dream for I suppose.

you are a dreamer, this is Dice we are talking about, they can't even get the current engine to run with more than 15 different gun types (which required at least a Gig of memory).....and you want to push some POS that they make with 100’s of tanks etc......I would wait for a real production group to put it out (maybe the next Enemy Territory after QW).

This will suck. Their probably only doing it because their threatened by quake wars which imo will be a much better game. I want Battlefield 1943!!!!
