Strange hissing noises and major lag

ive noticed since playin bf2 about 30 mins into a game i experience major lag and a loud hissing noise coming from ma pc. My m8 says its probably because i dont have enough ram or my pc is strugglin to run it

Specs:
Pentium 4 HT 3.2ghz
Nvidia GeForce FX 5500(i no technically my card shouldnt work but does)
512mb RAM
Windows XP 2

im experience major lag, yet my ping isnt going above 20, also my FPS was really stable @ 47, now im getting below 20, wtf. Maybe the servers are still updating with EA i dunno, maybe its PB been ghey.

did you check for any snakes inside your pc ?? anyways if your pc makes a weird noise SHUT DOWN PC... get 512 mb more ram and a better graphicscard to play this game..

yep had this problem.even before the new patch..really frustrating..id hear a low hissing then..fps goes from about 70 right down to 15 for a short time..i managed to stabilise my game by changing drivers(from 77.76 t0 extreme g 81-98) if the driver swapping doesnt solve it ..try unistalling service pack 2 then re-installing..seems to have worked for me

Does it sound like arty coming in from a distance?
If it does I had the same problem before the last patch came out. When that patch came out the problem went away. Now with the new patch its back again.

Just plain lame.
