I think I actually do ...
Granted, I don't have the hours that a lot of the full-time pilots do (35, last time I checked) but I've been in the air for at least 3 hours since the patch and thought it was an absolute rush every time.
Instead of being able to fly around with absolute impunity, I had to constantly watch for other jets (and engage them as quickly as possible) and I had to be acutely aware of AA emplacements and AA vehicles. I found that it was still possible to achieve a high KDR -- in fact, my first flight in 1.2 resulted in a kill streak of 23 (before being taken down by an enemy jet) -- but now you have to work harder for it; there's actually a semblance of a challenge involved.
Being in the air prior to this patch was never really 'exciting'. Fun, yes, but not the adrenaline rush you experience when you're on the ground and in the thick of the action. Now, it feels more like the other gameplay on offer -- where you need to be creative, aggressive and think quickly -- and I really think that's a good thing. My only gripe is that teammates need to spot the enemy jets with far more regularity than they do right now.
I still need to play more before making up my mind but I actually do prefer it this way.
What do the other pilots think? Anyone agree?
