How much damage can a UAV take?

Took down a UAV with a boat-mounted machine gun yesterday, it exploded in about 3 hits. I can only assume it was already heavily damaged.
Any idea how much a virgin UAV can take?

They are not that strong. .50 cal will take them down rather quickly

I took a couple down rather easily with the Special Ops weapon...sorry dont know the names of the weapons :)............Also are there any team points or anything awarded for taking them down?

nope, only for taking out the trailer in the enimies main base with 3 c4 packs.

Yeah.... but it is a bloody RC plane that fusually flies higher than you can see it and engage it with the vast majority of ground fired infantry weapons.

For as often as Hunter or Predator flew in support of our mission in Iraq... I can honestly say probly only saw it once.... and it was highenough to look like a small spec in an orbit over the target area.

Shooting it down with ground fire is not realistic (That being said... I know this is a game so all your potential game vs real arguments can be saved).

I do like the fact that you can rob the cdr of so eyes by destroyng it though.

i love the UAV thing, its seems so much more dangerous now, u find yourself looking at the sky to see if u can see it, boom ur dead lol

Yeah, UAV can mean death for ground troops. If you are concentraiting on the UAV and not the enemy activity around will probably mean you will get whacked while watching the clouds.

Jet cannons certainly rip them to pieces ...

One player told me he had taken one down with an AT rocket, too, but I'm yet to try that myself.

Absolutely right!! Usually they are so high you can't even hear them. Depends on what kind of UAV though. The miltary has smaller UAVs that smaller units use. I have even heard of squad based UAVs that a squad would launch by hand. Those UAVs can definatley be seen and heard! Again it depends on what eschelon is issued which UAV.

true, in real life they fly at more than a km high, but in the game it adds a nice option, coz you know when they see you, and you can do something about it

Two shots from the M95 take it down every time. I've kept cover when sniping by taking it down so many times.

Doesn't really matter if you take it down or not, no points are awarded for it, and another can be placed instantly

No, they have to wait for the Bar to Refill, that gives you a little bit of time.

Plus. The true bonus is just knowing when one is on you, and getting the heck out of the way. Especially when you're a sniper; kinda' a precursor to Artillery.
