X-FI Sound is now different after patch.

My sound is now totally different after installing the patch. I have an X-Fi Extreme Music and now a lot of sounds are "muffled". I am using the exact same settings as I had before the patch.....hmmm anyone else notice this?

I haven't noticed anything different either as yet (but the L96A1 sure sounds cool) but I will be paying more attention this evening ... could it be worth deleting the bf2 cache I wonder?.

Same problem here. The sound is WIERD, its like im hearing sounds from the hole map. I keep hearing the plane engines even though theres no plane near me, im hearing ppl dieing everywhere as loud as they were next to me and stuff like that oO

I also have an X-Fi extreme music. This is disapointing couse BF2 was one of the first games i actually noticed the sound improving ALOT when i bought the X-Fi

Hmmmn, out of curiosity what X-Fi drivers are you using?, the November 2.07.0004 or the 2.09.00 BETA drivers?.

The reason I ask is that had awful problems with the X-Fi XtremeMusic card on my previous PC and current PC initially, I was afflicted with terrible FPS performance , in fact it was unplayable. I had to rip out the X-Fi after much troubleshooting and put in my old Audigy. A couple of weeks ago though when the Beta drivers came along I decided to give them a try hoping I could once again hear the X-Fi quality sound and sure enough my performance levels are back to normal.

As I said earlier I haven't noticed issues so far but will pay more attention on my second evening of 1.2 testing ;-)

Keep me posted too. Sound seems fine but yeah at times some sounds feel louder than they should.

The sounds are more louder then they are muffled. And heres the link for the beta drivers.
