    An observation..and a glitch?

    Two things quickly:

1.) Although I patched my BF2 and played on 1.2 servers....in the server browser's upper right corner...it still says 1.1.2xxxx. Anyone else see that?

2.) I played for about 3 hours last night and a couple of times, I was killed by a dude that popped up in front of me VERY quickly. I didn't see any muzzle flash or hear any gunshots. It seems as though he just "appeared" and I died. Is this happening with anyone else?

    Haze

P.S. I still got PWNED by a few chopper pilots last night while manning the AA. Good pilots weren't getting shot down "all the time", but rather...killing the AA guys as much as they were dying.

It's normal. It won't change until DiCE bring out a patch that begins with 2.x

Had the exact same thing happening to me yesterday - and this is something I've never experienced in 550 hours of BF2/SF.
It was on Surge, and I was moving through a doorway at the Rebels' main base. I didn't see anyone there, but when I tried to move through the doorway, I suddenly died, and an enemy appeared out of nowhere. The kill message said I was killed by an AK-101, but I didn't hear a single shot.

        @ 2)

yes i think they have screwed up the sound in the patch....was playing with mates last night and we all couldn't hear being shot at it times until you were dead.

so there would be an APC shooting at you but you wouln't know until you were dead....then you would hear the sound.

        well done DICE.

It's client side lag working to the advantage of the player. It creates a "skipping" effect where the player is there and disappears for 1 sec and reappears in front of you. When this happens, they are very hard to kill, and it's best to kick the player.

They also increased the accuarcy of some of the weapons which means they increased the power as more bullits hit you faster.

I died mulitple times last night and did not hear a shot let alone see the guy. Usuallly I have a split sec. to react to see where it is comming from but I have just been dropped expecially witht he g3 and the 2000.
