(HELP) Serious LAG after Patch 1.2

I don't get it, before the patch everything runs fine, but after the patch, it runs like s*** against a steep mountain.

Things I've done:

- Re-installed Battlefield 2
- Re-installed Special Forces (It will auto update to 1.1)
- Updated with Full Patch 1.12
- Incremental update to 1.2

Game runs fine in Single player, but when I update the server list, every server has a ping rate of 100 or above!

Am I using the right patch? Because after the update to 1.2 you'll always see a popup when BF2 is started (like the "Coming soon Booster pack") but now with a white box in the lower right saying "ENGLISH" :hmm: . Do you guys have the same box popup after the update?

I still get the same old Booster Pack MotD; sounds like your installation is bugged somehow. Maybe you should invest the time and download the full patch and not the incremental one. <shrug> (Or just redownload the incremental one again at the very least.)

As far as ping, not all servers have updated yet, so maybe you are just in an area that is lagging behind, eh? :p

I've just played with the new patch on both virgin and sf bf2.

Virgin rocked everywhere

However SF......

normally I can connect to 64 player servers in the US with ping around 150 to 200 with no probs, tonight any server with ping abouve 100 in 64 maps sucked bad Fps about 10:cry: However the Jap servers I tried (only32 and 16) where quicker than before. I'm just waiting (hopefully) for the Korean 64 player server to update so I can find out if this is just server lag or a serious problem with the new patch (for me).

I've found the solution to my problems!

As you know, the file "bf2.exe" is overwritten by the BF2 Patch 1.2, so you just have to give it full access again with your firewall.

I'm using McAfee Firewall and I did not get a message that the file "bf2.exe" was changed. But when I runned the Firewall from the Start Menu, a message came up, asking me, if I want to give it full access again.

Yet so simple.....but it worked for me :) . Hope it works for more people...
