Commanders should also be making manned AA emplacement's priority targets.

The F15 and the J10 in the game should be rivals. The game should be balanced. reality is not always the right choice/fun.

No F15 was ever taken down in a combat since its first day. that does not mean you should not be able to take an F15 down in the game.

In the Air Force's trainings when the practice... (someone correct me if I am wrong) if someone gets a lock on you then you are out of the practice and considered "dead".

The game was fun for you, but it really was not fun for anyone else.

Re: Pilot Discussion: Strategies for New Anti Air

I like the new patch. After reading a lot on here about how antiair missiles can't miss, I was expecting to blindly shoot down anything at will in the air. Well I racked up an enormous amount of TKs today so the missiles are overhyped in my opinion. You still have to be somewhat careful. But yes I definitely scored a lot more hits than I used to, no question.

Also I was able to survive just fine but I did have to be much more careful. I went 21-1 on Operation Clean Sweep in the Mig 29 today. I think a good deal of my success there was from having great teammates that round. Other rounds on other maps weren't as good for me. Gulf of Oman was harsh, as I expected, and I gave up real fast. :) Still a long way to adjust to the changes but so far so good.

AA sure is better, but that's ok to me. More challenge!!! Bring it on!

Hope this change cuts down the casual flyers - Maybe a little less teamkilling smacktards queuing for planes? I sure hope so. :p and

Good idea. Another way to support the team.

I just played a couple rounds on OCS and got 56-0. Its not about scores, its about dumbing down the gameplay for noobs. Before you actually had to think and stalk to kill an aircraft, now just lock and fire away, easy kill.

The missile system seems a little glitchy as well. After doing evasive maneuvers, sometimes the missiles look like they are going to lose lock, but something makes them do a zig zagging(lighting bolt) until it hits anyway.

The missile lock is definitely weird now. Weird as in PERFECT. I fired a stinger at a plane coming straight at me, it dumped bombs in my face, the missiles did a 180 and killed the plane a few seconds later. YAY!!!

I laugh at every single person who says that F-15 against J-10 should be as easy as vice versa because I see that I am not retarded yet. Thank you for proving my sanity by disproving yours.

To bring an example from a level of yoru comprehension. G3 vs MP5 and MP5 has the exact same equal chance of coming out victorious. Apply the same logic to air to air battles in BATTLEFIELD2 now. And dont bring the real life ******** in. This is about player vs player gameplay where skills should matter. Not some crazyass real life techncality. Youre talking about the wrong game if youre bringing real life issues in here.

Re: Pilot Discussion: Strategies for New Anti Air

Im not a great pilot, but I have been able to avoid probably 1/3 of the missles shot at me A-to-A. Often times I can survive the first volley, but if i can't loose the plane before they get another good lock on, I'm probably dead. The angle still matters, it just matters a lot less. Pilots chasing each other around in tight circles arent gonna get many missle hits but the effective angle for the planes is much better.

And honestly, heaven forbid a pilot get shot down by a 'noob'. Any joe in a tank or on the ground can be easily killed by a 'noob' if they get the drop on them or get outnumbered. Welcome to the game as the rest of us play it. Don't worry, aircraft still have a huge advantage and you pilots will still get K/D ratios and score much higher than most the other players, but now, at least a little, the field is a little more level for all.

And about it not being fun, welcome to the world we infantryman have lived in. You think it was 'fun' to be constantly bombed or gunned up from the air with absolutely no chance to defend ourselves? Hell no! I agree that it would be better if dogfights were a little more fun, but the change was long and desperetly needed.

And good pilot still fly and get kills and have fun, its just a little more difficult. No more JSFs hovering just off the Chinese airfield or making pass-after-pass-after-pass with no fear of retaliation because you keep blowing your only competition up before it gets off the ground.

Choppers and the AA didnt change much really, since copters have flares recharge so quickly, and a good attack chopper pilot is still very difficult to take down with a FAV, unless you got multiple people working him at once.

                        It aint that bad

-So far as I have been able to tell so far, the most effective way to shake a missle is a roll. There's my tip.

If we apply simple mathematics- you only got killed by a good pilot 2-3 times per round. Now tell me that is just too bad to live with.

That's correct . I heard from my friend who is a Flying Officer in the air force said that too.

You need to read up on what airwar is these days.

As far as mechanics are concerned, why is it so unfair that an F-18 can take out a J-10, but a J-10 can kill anything on the ground?
Doesn't sound like a legit gripe ta me.
I said the F15 bomber, which is heavy and much less maneuverable than the J10 obviously.
