I am getting very high ping rates

I have been kicked for too high a ping rate. No servers below 200.

It seems to be striking different players from different parts of the continent.

I think Punkbuster is due for an upgrade.

Really is that true? Not trying to start a flame war with you, but just wanted to know if this was a fact?

I thought the German patch was also the official one? But anyways, to play safe, I waited for the official annoucement, but yet to install it since I'm still at work

*and will be getting drunk tonite, because of a farewell party I have to attend to

Not true, others I play with downloaded the German patch and have no problems.

I was playing fine until later tonight. This has only been going on the last few hours.

The problem seems to have rectified itself. Ping rates are back to normal now.

There's is no german patch it's an international patch, and the one leaked early on a German website is exactly the same as the one of EA's FTP server.

Download PBSetup from evenbalance.com and update PB.

There is no difference between the patch the two both have the same Hash.

You're best bet is to check your internet connection to make certain that it's running right.

If you have a router make certain it is configured to forward the proper ports. If all else fails disconnect the power from your dsl or cable modem and router for a few minutes and see if it's corrects.

I don't get it, before the patch everything runs fine, but after the patch, it runs like s*** against a steep mountain.

Things I've done:

- Re-installed Battlefield 2
- Re-installed Special Forces (It will auto update to 1.1)
- Updated with Full Patch 1.12
- Incremental update to 1.2

Game runs fine in Single player, but when I update the server list, every server has a ping rate of 100 or above!

Am I using the right patch? Because after the update to 1.2 you'll always see a popup when BF2 is started (like the "Coming soon Booster pack") but now with a white box in the lower right saying "ENGLISH" . Do you guys have the same box popup after the update?

Tried the patch already awhile ago, and I noticed that loading times have gotten longer as compared to pre patch (either that or I was just really excited for the game to load up to see the difference of the patch)

I'll try to update punkbuster and see if that is the cause.

Does anyone have a cure for this problem?

I have tried both versions of the patch several times, and still have no pings lower than 2000 in my browser or 250 in game.

I also have the word "ENGLISH" in the message when I first sign in.

Please help!!!!!

Things seemed to have settled down regarding the ping times. I am getting some very good pings today, even one down to 39ms. My hunch is that is is based on routing to the game site, influenced by GameSpy or PunkBuster. Maybe with all the traffic yesterday with the patch. I also have the word English in the title screen.

I just tried and it still sucked, even the browser is super slow.

Ironically enough though, when I play 1.12 my pings are far lower than ever before.
