Your CPU is bottlenecking your card. I had a 2ghz P4 when I had my 6800GT and 2 gigs of Ram, when I swapped the P4 for my 3500+ my framerate went from 15-20 to 60+. Don't blame your graphics card.
hmm I was under the impression from all the comparisons I have read that the pentium m 1.86 outperforms a pentium 4 3.2ghz so Im not reallu sure that what your saying is acurate.That my cpu is bottlenecking my performance. (I can run vanilla at all high 1600x1200)
I played on a server yesterday that had terrible lag. I have NEVER experienced any lag with BF:2 at all. I know I am one of those rare breeds that never complained about lag at all. I guess I have a great computer and great connection that it really helps. However, last night it was awful and I feel sorry for you guys that suffer with lag. I think it was just the server I was on as everyone was complaining of stuttering and what not. I played other servers and it was running like butter.

I found the exact same thing, i think the server had a pinned CPU or something because everyone was Ice Skating, but it was only on certain servers. Weird thing was my ping was under 100 the whole time, really weird.

I experienced the same thing just yesterday some kind of rollback lag where I would keep skipping and noticing myself lag which i've never seen before...My ping would alternate from 20 to 500 which has happened very few times with 6MB connection. All desktop programs shut down..
This only happened on a few servers while on others my ping would stay at reasonable 20-50 with no lag issues. Only since the patch has this started happening.
Well the patch fixed major issues for me with a 6600gt, before the patch i played on medium at about 40fps on vanilla and 25fps on SF. Now i'm up to 80-90fps on vanilla and 60~ on SF, 64 player iron gater plays fine for me now. I could probley bump up my graphic settings now but i'm enjoying this smooth playing so much at the moment.

i have everything default at medium except res @ 1024x768/view distance 100%, i'm not too bothered about AA or AF as performance is something i prefer over pretty looks.
