i just installed the 1.2 patch (the 82mb increment one and yes i do have the 1.12 patch) and then it loads up bf2 and the screen goes black and then goes back to desktop...help?

btw YES BF2 DID WORK ON M SYSTEM

Do you have ATI video card?? And do you have the latest Catalyst Driver?

THe reason i ask is when i checked the release notes for latest catalyst 6.2 in known issues:

-Battlefield 2: The game may exit to the Windows desktop after the game logo is displayed. Further details can be found in topic number 737-21660

so try roll back to 6.1 catalyst driver if you have ATI card and 6.2 driver

no i dont have an ati video card....(it says i use nvidia in my sig) but speaking of drivers i am using the 82.12 beta drivers but i sortof doubt its the problem since i can run the bf2 demo fine

my rig is about the same level as yours

i got an ati 9250

weird technical probs happened to me since the patch i'm just trying to roll back drivers and look for other ways out

before the patch the game ran with a great 30fps on low quality now its piece of crap won't even display anything i basically see through a empty field with random explosions happening all around

let me guess, you renamed bf2.exe right?

if you did, you have to REINSTALL EVERYTHING! that included bf2, sf, etc. you can't rename bf2.exe and then try to apply the new patch.

fruck...yea ur right rouje...i just reinstalled bf2 and now its taking a friggin long time to reinstall bf2 1.12 patch...bbl...thanks rouje

what about moviing files? i moves my video files so that it didnt load them and waste time. should I move them back?
