1.2 Error Message on Installer

To avoid hijacking that other thread, let's try and figure out things here. I got the same message as the screenshot. My working theory is that it's due to the non-default install path. I'm going to move my BF2 install and try again. Additionally, I'm going to flush my temp directories. I'll report back with the results when I'm done.

i use the default install path and i still get the error. im guessing its something to do with service pack 2

Mine just failed.. It might just be a broken download from fileshare or whatever that site was called.. trying again asap

have tried both. rapidshare one installs fine then u go to start the game and black screen then back to desktop. something smells fishy

Wait, so the 1.2 patch in the other thread won't work? Or is this just for some people?

Update:

I redownloaded the patch from this link: http://www.teamwbr.net/afo/BF2_Incre...1.12_-_1.2.exe

Afterwards, I moved my BF2 directory into the Program Files folder and altered the install path listed in the registry to reflect the program's new location. After doing these, but not clearing my temp directories, the patch worked.

same here failed at installing ... ah damn ... well its st. valentine tomorrow, school is gonna suck as always, so i can miss it.

as I stated in the other thread, servers get big load and could give corrupt date wich results in errors , just redownload and hope you don't have to reinstall the game

Question I try to install the small download, and I'm getting this message "This requires battlefield2 v 1.12 to be installed" However I am pretty sure it is already on my comp, and installed how can I tell what patches I have downloaded for my game??

go to bf2 main menu, it should say in the right side, top corner.

it crashing before it will load now..
