Please make sure to turn on this new settings for the 1.2 patch!

Server setting to allow friendly fire to be off on mines without affecting other weapons.

Hopefully this will promote more people to play engineers.

Sorry, that's the coder in me. When I say "flag" I'm not talking about an actual flag in game but a "flag" or toggle setting for the server.

Hopefully, admins (if they decide to take advantage of this) will mention it on the load up screen so people know ahead of time. I don't think anyone wants to risk finding out what the FF situation is during the game (like laying a mine only to find out FF is this on => woot...TK points).

it's nice a new feature, but it most likely will not be common unless the admins or thier friends use engineering a lot, because if they don't, they wouldn't really care. for others, it would ruin the realism and so for they'd keep it enabled.
honestly, i say it's a much needed required feature. screw the realism. everytime i lay down an AT mine, within 30 seconds i get a 3 man buggy teamkill and punished for it...hell, i throw a mine on a tank in the middle of nowhere and somehow i'll kill a teammate when the tank moves...

Well its going to be a hell of a lot more when everyone starts playing engineer on karkand because they can throw mines everywhere and rack up kills for doing nothing (heres the point) WITH NO THREAT OF A TEAKMILL....

O god...i don't even use tanks..or play in a server that uses punish system.....

And no im not ****ed i can't punish ppl...because i dont when its my fault.

Im ****ed because mines are going to be everywhere on maps like karkand...and altough im not a tank whore....its going to be tough going anywhere if its not FF for mines AND they can't be destroyed by explosives...guys...use your brains...its common sense...bad game balance here...

Using Karkand as a example strikes me as odd. Tell me how many people actually rank up kills dispatching armor in Karkand? Isn't Karkand mostly about intense infantry fighting anyway?

You are wrong about no threat of a teamkill though, I probably lost count the number of times when someone wanders into the wreckage of a destroyed armor which explodes shortly thereafter giving me a tk. (and followed by a quick punish)

Mines everywhere is really a gross exaggeration, mines are like c4. Even if resupplied the engi can only have 5 of them out at any given time.

And using Karkand again, it's a relatively "small" map can be tranversed easily while walking. How is so the "mine" threat is so huge that you always have to travel with transport vehicles?

And seriously you always go on about Karkand, It's probably a known fact that c4 chunkers, dolphin divers, noob tubers all gravitate towards 24/7 Karkand servers. Hell the first time I saw dolphin diving and c4 chunking was just that, in a 24/7 Karkand server when I was trying for my knife and pistol badges.

Ok guys try to use your heads before jumping to conclusions ok? There are other aspects being changed such as! The fact you will be able to pick up Anyones c4 or mines, so if you want to get rid if mines you just pick them up instead of using your wrench on them -.- Plus the whole point of mines in the first place was to be effective at stopping or slowing armor...Right now it does neither. So the fact that EA WANTS mines all over karkand does not mean you can do nothing to stop them...
