Ok guys I have RADEON 9200 with correct drivers, and a fairly new comp with 512mb of RAM.

There has been loadsa problems with the game freezing and not being able to do anything when you join a server (after load and verify client data). I have this problem but with a twist. I have tried everything that you guys have suggested on this forum for this problem like reinstalling game, reset to default the video options, i have reinstalled my drivers from ati.com, i have restored system to a previous date, i have defragmented hard drive, i have cleaned c: AND NONE OF IT HAS CHANGED A DAMN THING!!!

If anyone has any new ideas, please post coz im having withdrawal symptoms and no-one that I have talked to about it knows of any solutions, including my clannies, and the guys from UKC.

It's your ram that's bottle necking your pc, 1 gig will run smooth around medium, while 2 gigs will run it at high well. You could also upgrade your graphics card.

Have you ever been able to play it? Full systems spec? Have you tried updating punkbuster?

Avoid running applications in the background. 512mb is the minimum requirement, therefor minimum performance.

Avoid using such a cr appy videocard (sorry), that one is next to useless for gaming.

Have you EVER been able to play BF2 without problems?

dude throw that 9200 down a well....when i got my first comp with a 9200 i could only play 1942 on med graphics, then when i tried it with BF2 i just got the black splash screen and then threw me back to Desktop...get a 9600 if your that under budget at least it will run the game 9200 aint any good mate.

512MB with a 9200 is close to the bare minimum of what BF2 can run, so you already answered your own question. By the way, your saying this is a new PC, well the parts are definetly not anywhere close to being new it looks like.
