    Blocky shadows on nVidia

All my shadows in game are very blocky, sometimes (at certain angles) the shadows look sharp and fine like they used to, but usualy they are extremly blocky (both static object and dynamic shadows) I have read about this being a problem on ati cards but i havnt seen anything on nvidia. I have all settings on high except for dynamic shadows and dynamic lighting which are on medium and I am running 2x AA at 1024x768. Anyone have any idea what is causing this or how to fix it?

honestly, I have used both an nvidia card (7800gt) and an ATI card (x700) and both would switch between blocky and normal shadows. It seemed to just depend on what angle the sun was in relation to your eye and the object casting the shadow.

I've tried both the 81.98's and the 82.12 betas, both cause this problem, I also tried clearing the video cache.

well i tried shadows on my 9800xt before it blew up( well the positive power lead dislodged and the card started smoking) anyway before that miss hap it was doing exactly what your saying, so then i got a 6800GT on a completly new system and same thing happend with that card, so my conclusion is that the shadows are just poxy as hell and a waste of system resorces TURN EM OFF!!!! :P

AA is not applied to the shadows in bf2 hence jaggies at certain angles.

This happened to me before too. When you first turn on your computer and Bf2 is in the Bf2 load screen will show up saying play Bf2, play Bf2 online. Under those it says Nvidia drivers. Install those, it got those nasty blocks away for me.

wont work for me, because the 6800gs came out AFTER.

its a game engine problem not a graphics card or hardware problem.
