Can't Find a tutorial on this....

Ok well here's the problems....
1. Made the map (no problem) all spawns good, all object spawners good
2. Can play the map through xpack and through a custom mod
3. Can ONLY play the map bymyself.

so here's what i cant do

1. Cannot connect or have anyone connect to the local server running this map, they or I get the error that "the files dont match the server....blah...blah...plz reinstall battlefield 2 to its orginal version and try again"...
2. We have verfied ALL FILES to do with the map and YES they do match file for file.

so no connecting possible, but i can play bymyself and so can the people with it.....

any suggestions??? PLZ HELP!!

Probably NOT, Quick put a bikini on her!

I have Goten that problem before, so i think i just coppied the whole darn EA Games folder. it worked.

Ok i fixed the sig (if it's not keep refreshing your page until it's not so obscene )

And by copying the whole EA games folder you mean copy my EA games folder zip it up and send it off to the boys so they can play this map??

I Thought you were testing.

Im saying share it as a windows share. then go to the other comp and copy from it.( Im assuming you have multiple PCs on a lan and multiple bf2 copys/cd keys)

Then if your trying to serv bf2 over a wan there are a lot of ports to open FIRST. a lan is much simpler to set up for testing.

Yeah alright i set up my other comp with the map and THE EXACT SAME files as my main computer bf2 folders and STILL same god damn error....wow this is driving me wild....could it be that i mixed xpack stuff with vanilla BF2 content??

Ea Says "YOU CANT DO THAT" So Probably, Youll have to make your own mod or play it in xpack.

Yep found the problem YOU CAN (i dont know if it's allowed from reading the sticky i would say no) mix vanilla bf2 and SF content on any map you like. The problem i had was so damn simple that i want to shoot myself, i ran it in our dedicated server so i could get a error log as people were conecting and VOILA! map name too ****ing long....that is it....no crazy problem no deep programming error...map name too long....ugh.

How long was the name? It would be good to know the limit. Also, was it the in-game name or the name on the map folder?

I should correct myself the MOD name was too long...i had a whole new mod created for this map (was mixing Vanilla and SF content) so i named the mod xwsxskillztopaythebillzx
now that I look at it 24characters is a little much
i renamed it xWSx and it worked fine thereafter
