Heres a tip for running it on high. I figured this out.. Go into your movies and delete your movies about 200MB's of RAM is used just from the back ground movies and is never released when the game starts up. It will fix your choppyness if you had any as far as running it on high. It probally won't look better, unless you were already running on medium and can increase it to high.

I;m going on what I know, and I know that 6800GS is awesome bang for buck.

I guess nVidia is good for some games anyway.

The specs on that ATi card are just better, that's all. More pipes and clock speed.

ATi usually (on comparable cards) has high clock speeds not nessescarily more pipes but sometimes. I dont know if you can get a x850xt for the same price as a 6800gs. it all depends really, nvidia says more games are better for their cards, but both SEEM to do the same. who knows.

Well tbh I was thinking of the XXX edition which is not available to agp.
The 6800GS AGP is around £50 cheaper and I don;t thinkt he difference in perfromance will be great compared to the Ati. I could be wrong, I mean I;m not the most tech wise guy around.

go to your game folder:

eg
c:\bf2\mods\bf2\movies
and delete or rename all *.bik files
it keeps movies from loading at startup
and as I have been told - frees up the ram

I did that, I can see no change at all while gaming, instead I just have a ugly black screen in the background. I suggest deleting the startup movies but not the background ones. Those are kinda cool. maybe it does help i dont know, but didnt do much for me, but maybe that is because I have a good rig.
