bf2 wont start

hey guys, im having a problem with my battlefield 2, when i installed it, it wasnt updated, but just yesterday i got the expansion special forces and which it updated my bf2 to version 1.1, i tried to load and it went to a black screen then back to my desktop, i went and downloaded the patch version 1.12 and it still does the same thing, it says on the bf2 home page that it could be a driver/video card problem, i am running a 7800GTX with the newest drivers, any ideas on how to fix this problem ????.

Try unistalling, then do a fresh install of bf2, bf2:sf, then the patch 1.12
