    Eax?

Ok guys im running an Audigy 2 ZS with the latest drivers from creative. When I enable eax I don't hear anything different than with eax off, only thing I notice is slightly lower frame rate . What are your guys opinion on running eax?

    Re: Eax?

You may have to try the EAX tweak that is stickied somewhere in this support forum or you may have to try the BF2OpenAL.dll file switch that is also mentioned tons of times around here.

Make sure that you do NOT have EAX effects enabled in the Creative EAX control panel though.

Is that true with X-Fi too?

No, with the X-fi, you can leave the check-box as 'enabled' and you can even increase the EAX volume with the slider and it works perfectly.

For example, go into the tunnels below Kubra dam in a jeep. Park right in the middle. Get into the turret (F2) and go into 3rd person mode (hit the C button to change camera view, or use F10) and start shooting all over the place. You should hear all sorts of reverb.

The reason you can hear it better in third person mode is that EAX with some Audigy cards is very quiet and cannot be heard over the 2d sounds of your guns firing. Moving to 3rd person view eliminates that for you.

If you edit your .con files as I stated in a previous thread, you can artificially increase your EAX effect volumes.
