Overclocking

Hi i am running exactly what its says in the sig.

My problem is i cant get my pc to overclock past 2.2ghz. Is there any thing i can do to get it higher? I am a novice at overclocking. I havent touched voltages yet.

Will changing the htt help?

have you raised the HTT or the multiplier? and what is exactly the reason why you cant get past 2,2ghz?

if prime95 or some other program gives you an error you gotta raise the core voltage :P

theres quite a bit of the variables and all of them are case sensitive. in this case i think he needs to raise the voltage as its the reason quite often.

Whats your memory at? Are you running a divider?

Did you try setting your memory to DDR200 just to test the MAX of your CPU?

No i havent done anything like that lol. I dont think i know how, i just raised the FSB to 220. But i am using Corsair value ram and i think thats the culprit. It restarts itself after 2.25ghz

Will raising the volts help?

I,ve just finished building a gaming rig for my buddy using the same cpu, the cpu multiplyer on those 3200's is locked at 10 so the only way is to up the fsb speed, i have it running stable at 2.4ghz using 10x240mhz fsb & its rock solid, very fast cpu, it's your mobo & ram that have to be good plus your psu to get the higher overclocks.

Nope, all stock voltages, that's using a Lanparty mobo & 500w psu. Allways go as high as possible without uping voltages first to see what ou can get, i allways try to avoid increasing volts where possible.

Quality ram is definately the key to a successfull oc.

Did you read through the links I have given you? If you don't know what you're doing you'll break something.

Dude, set the AGP/PCI lock! and check if it holds! the lock is explained in the link i pasted earlier.

If all you did was up the FSB, and not take into consideration your RAM, that's your issue - Gauranteed (unless your mobo is a POS).

Note though, not ALL value RAM is bad. I have crucial value RAM which the RAM itself hits DDR500. Not bad I say.

Anyway, did you change any RAM timings? Do you know what your timings are right now?
