    Re: Sniping tips

@Karesk and @Arkasha check the first link in my Sig. Most (I guess 90%) kills were made with the M24. I didnt even Unlock the M95 untill I hit First Sergeant.

The M95 and SVD make too much noise for my liking. I rather miss once (not often I am at 52% accuracy) with the M24 and not be spotted, than hammer away with any other Sniper Rifle.

I dont get spotted often and I have the Expert on Vanilla BF2. Working on the SF medal as of late (usually Ghosttown in the Belltower).

ONLY MORANS UNDERESTIMATE THE SVD and i was one of them.
I hate to break this to you, but I've done the same with the M24.

Only "MORANS" underestimate a weapon of any kind.

But you had to bolt each round in.

I was playing Karkand, it turned into a sniper battle. Under the pressure, most of the American snipers cracked and failed to headshot whilst I cracked and spat 10 rounds at them. It created the desired effect.

In my opinion, you can also kill a more people more quickly with the SVD, and I've used it in close range fire fights and won.

don't play in laggy servers. i've been in servers bad enough that i can't hit a stationary target at 20 ft with the m95, and then i've been in servers i could headshot a moving target at 300m. it all really depends on the lag time it seems. don't know why that matters for a stationary target though...but it seems that if i lag at all, my sniper shots will almost never hit.

The BOTTOM line is that a weapon is only an extension of the soldier. If you are a crappy shot to begin with... It doesn't matter what weapon you choose. Only after you practice will you find the weapon you like and the one you prefer.

Oh wait, I can't recall my M24 has ever done such a thing for me :'[[

And that's why I prefer the SVD. Because it helps me more when I miss, get too close or my gun strangely goes black and the crosshairs dissappear (happens every game).

But what I find hilarious is that people think because they're being sniped at, the best thing to do is go prone in the middle of the street. I prefer prone targets to running ones

When I play as sniper...its funny because really it all depends on the situation I find myself in. I use all the sniper rifles the game offers, just because each has its own advantage. The m24 is the best for long range and accuracy...but the semi auto abilities of the SVD and chinese rifle also can prove very effective.

                    Re: Sniping tips

i use m95 as it helps my team no matter who i hit teamm8 can clean up easy and if someone has been hit then its instant death from my single bullit.
60% with the m95 yeh the m24 is good at range but i wont find as many target as me from 150-250 defending a flag, most player when hit to half hp wont run away scared like they do when my m95 hits them, fav karkland i can defend 3 flags at once with a m95 and each hit on diffent flags makes there minds boggle,
yeh the svd is good for crcking of a lot of shots but the noise it makes gives me easy finding of a svd sniper, yeh ok the m95 is loud but as i fire 1 shot its harder to pinpoint where it came from.
i only had a few goes on the new sniper weapon and it is a nice riffle accurute cool sound but i still favour the penatrator(m95)

I like the SVD very much but it is very easy to spot a sniper who is shooting in bullet after another... so I prefer it on 1on1 combat, on big maps with a few ppl. The SVD's crossair rulz, far tha best imo. I practise with the L96 and it seems very accurate when you prone. If you stand you cant hit a stationary target from 5meters... so you will have to at least crouch when you encounter a close target.
I wonder how much has the M95 improved since the 1.2 patch, any expereince?

well mu can defenatly see the diffence in the accuracy in 1.2
the m95 seems to be as accurte as the m24 did in 1.12 ,which makes good for distance shot's with the m95.
personaly i like it,im hitting more now and missing less even moving targets are a bit easyer

I am getting used to the L96 because you can use it with any team like the M95... Desipte the improvement to the M95 I will only equip it if I know I am going to get a view over an enemy airfield...

As for the semi-auto vs bolt action debate, well I think the increased accuracy of the L96 (as it is a carbon copy of the M24) finishes that debate for me personally...

There is an issue doing the rounds of people saying the PKM is owning snipers. My answer to that is that those snipers got too close...

                              Just a question:

Can the L96 shoot through glass, like the M95?

I assume it does, but I'm not sure.

Once a guy sniped me with his pkm from about 150meters away. Instant headshot, I was realy confused, at least it happend only once.
