"Not Enough HD Space" Error

Hello,

I just got around to buying BF2 and the special forces expansion pack. Eager to play it, but I already ran into a problem.

-I installed game
-Downloaded 1.12 Patch

Now when I try to install the patch I get an error telling me I don't have enough HD space and need 2.4gb or so free. However, I have more 3 or more gigs free on all of my drives. Also let me point out that I have installed BF2 on a partitioned drive (D) separate from Windows (C). My C: has the least amount of space w/ a little over 3gb, but shouldn't that not matter since the game isn't installed on there?

Any help appreciated.. I want to go shoot some people already!

only 3gb spare? and you need 2.4
only thing i can think of is some of that is reserved for virtual memory, system cache, temp folders or anything else. delete a couple of things

How big is your harddrive..clean up..defrag and delete all programs you dont need.

I have a 160gb hd. I am actually trying to install the game on my D: which has 14gb free... The patch is applied to the same drive the game is installed on correct?
